OPEN REHEARSALS

Why does an orchestra need a conductor?  What does an orchestral rehearsal look like? How is it possible for 100 musicians to play together? How does Bruckner Orchester Linz rehearse? What does the typical work day of an orchestra member look like? Why does an orchestra sound different under different conductors? How does magic work?

Have you asked yourself these questions and want to have more insight into the workings of an orchestra? Then you’re in the right place!
Bruckner Orchester Linz is opening their rehearsal hall to curious audience members.

OPEN REHEASALS
INCLUDING A DISCUSSION IN THE INTERVAL
IN THE LARGE ORCHESTRA HALL AT THE
LINZ MUSIC THEATRE

EVENTS:
Monday, 04th March 2019
Friday, 17th May 2019
EACH AT 10.30Uhr

One Chief Conductor and one hundred musicians, how does that work?

After some practical preparation, students will dive into the world of orchestral sound. How does it sound when 100 musicians rehearse with Chief Conductor Markus Poschner? Since a rehearsal is not a concert, audience members will gain intimate insight into the work day of an musician. Following the rehearsal, Markus Poschner will be available to answer questions and enter discussion with students

Maximum 2 school classes per open rehearsal. Free entry!
