Gerhard Fluch studied trumpet at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Josef Pomberger (he graduated „with distinction“ in 2007). Before he had even earned the master of music degree Gerhard Fluch had served as a substitute trumpet for The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Lower Austrian Tonkünstler Orchestra, Vienna State Opera and Volksoper, NDR Symphony Orchestra Hannover etc. under the direction of reputable conducters like Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Zubin Mehta and Seiji Ozawa.
Gerhard Fluch started his professional career at the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna in 2004. In 2007 he joined the Bruckner Orchestra Linz as a principal trumpet.
In addition to his successful career as an orchestral musician Gerhard Fluch has taught numerous masterclasses and he has appeared as guest soloist with Austrian and international orchestras and brass chamber groups.
